Dr. Ford’s practice solely focuses on a pediatric population; older adolescents are considered for admittance to the practice on a case-by-case basis given their individual needs and circumstances.

Dr. Ford earned his Bachelor’s in Psychology at UAB before attending the University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned his Master’s in Psychology and Doctorate in School Psychology. This specialty afforded Dr. Ford the opportunity to focus solely on studying assessment, therapeutic, and school consultation practices for children, adolescents, and their families. 

 

He completed his doctoral internship at the Munroe Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center specializing in rural integrated behavioral care. He completed his post-doctoral fellowship jointly at UAB and Glenwood focusing on psychological evaluation of children and adolescents within clinical and school-based settings. He has practiced as a psychologist since 2018. Prior to joining Vulcan, Dr. Ford worked as a child and adolescent psychologist at Children’s Behavioral Health (Children’s Hospital of Alabama) working primarily in the outpatient service line providing therapeutic and assessment services to children throughout Alabama, and secondarily providing inpatient assessment and consultation. 

 

Dr. Ford is well regarded for his past treatment focused research in the areas of school consultation/intervention and autism spectrum disorders – for which he has participated in numerous professional presentations across the country and is published in various scientific journals. 

 

In his free time, Dr. Ford enjoys spending time with his family, cheering on his favorite sports teams, cooking, and various outdoor activities.
